Bubble Shooter Tips: How to Clear Every Level
To clear a Bubble Shooter level, aim for the bubbles that hold up big clusters: pop them and everything hanging underneath falls off at once, for double points. Bounce shots off the walls to reach gaps you can't hit straight on, swap to the next bubble when the current colour doesn't fit, and keep the bubbles in the middle from creeping down, because the ceiling drops a row every few shots.
How a level works
You aim the launcher at the bottom and fire one bubble at a time. It sticks where it touches another bubble or the ceiling. If it joins a group of three or more of the same colour, the whole group pops. Any bubbles that are then no longer connected to the ceiling fall off too. Pop every bubble to win; if a bubble ends up below the dashed line at the bottom, the game is over.
On GameLake every colour also has its own symbol (heart, star, leaf, droplet, moon and flower), so you can match by shape as well as colour.
1. Drop clusters instead of just popping
Popping three bubbles removes three. Popping the three that a whole bunch is hanging from can remove fifteen. Before every shot, look for small groups of one colour near the top that everything below depends on. Those are your best targets, even if a bigger same-colour group is easier to hit lower down.
It's worth more, too. On GameLake each popped bubble scores 10 and each dropped bubble 20, and dropping six or more in one shot adds a bonus of 10 more for each. The shot above is worth 330 points before the difficulty multiplier; popping three loose bubbles somewhere else would be worth 30.
2. Bank shots off the walls
The side walls are your best friend. A bubble that bounces off a wall comes in at an angle, so it can reach gaps tucked behind other bubbles or under an overhang. GameLake's aim line shows the bounce, so line it up, check where the dotted line ends, and fire.
The closer your target is to the wall, the higher up the wall the bounce has to be. For a target further in, bounce lower down.
3. Use swap, and plan two bubbles ahead
You can always see the next bubble beside the launcher. Tap the launcher (or press Swap) to fire that one first. Before you shoot, look at both: if the current colour has nowhere good to go but the next one does, swap. If both fit, play the one that sets up the other, for example placing a blue now so the next blue pops a group.
4. Park awkward bubbles where they won't hurt
Sometimes neither bubble fits. Don't fire it into the middle of the field, where it adds a stray colour that blocks future shots and hangs lower. Put it next to bubbles of the same colour, where it makes a pair that will pop later, or up against the sides, out of the main lanes.
5. Stay ahead of the ceiling
Every few shots the whole field moves down one row. The dots under the launcher count down the shots that are left before the next drop. On GameLake, every shot counts, including the ones that pop something, so the drop always comes eventually:
| Mode | Colours | Ceiling drops every | Aim line | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 4 | 10 shots | Full length | ×1 |
| Medium | 5 | 7 shots | Shorter | ×2 |
| Hard | 6 | 6 shots | Short | ×3 |
| Daily | 5 | 7 shots | Shorter | ×2 |
Watch your lowest bubbles, not the average. One long string hanging down the middle reaches the line long before the rest of the field does. When the countdown is low, spend a shot knocking out whatever hangs lowest, even if it isn't your best scoring shot.
6. Finish off colours
The launcher only loads colours that are still on the board. Once you clear the last bubble of a colour, it stops coming, so each shot is more likely to match something. Late in a level, go after the colours with only a few bubbles left: clearing them out makes the rest of the level easier.
7. Fewer shots, more stars
When you clear the board you get a 500-point bonus (times the mode's multiplier) and up to three stars. Stars depend on how many shots you used compared with how many bubbles you started with, so big cluster drops are what earn the third star. Shots that only add bubbles to the field cost you twice: once in stars and once in ceiling time.
Common mistakes
- Popping the easiest group instead of the one holding up a cluster.
- Firing straight up the middle every time, which piles bubbles in the centre and brings them down to the line fastest.
- Forgetting to check the next bubble before shooting the current one.
- Ignoring the countdown and letting a ceiling drop push a low string over the line.
Start on Easy, where the aim line shows exactly where the bubble will stick, to practise bank shots. Then move up to Medium and Hard, where the line gets shorter and you have to judge the bounce yourself. If you like this kind of puzzle, try our Block Puzzle tips next.
Frequently asked questions
How do you win at Bubble Shooter?
Pop every bubble on the board before any bubble crosses the line at the bottom. Aim for the bubbles holding up big groups so whole clusters fall at once.
What is the best Bubble Shooter strategy?
Knock down clusters by popping the bubbles they hang from, use wall bounces to reach hidden gaps, swap when the current colour doesn't fit, and keep the lowest bubbles away from the line.
How do you bounce shots in Bubble Shooter?
Aim at a side wall instead of the bubbles. The bubble bounces off at the same angle, which lets it reach gaps behind other bubbles. GameLake's dotted aim line shows the bounce.
Do falling bubbles score more?
Yes. On GameLake a dropped bubble scores 20 points, twice a popped one, and dropping six or more in one shot adds a bonus of 10 per bubble.
When does the ceiling come down?
Every 10 shots on Easy, 7 on Medium and the Daily, and 6 on Hard. The dots under the launcher show how many shots are left.
Can I play Bubble Shooter without colours?
Yes. Every colour has its own symbol, so colour-blind players can match bubbles by shape.
