How to play

Swipe up, down, left or right (or use the arrow keys) to slide every tile on the board as far as it can go.
When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile worth double: 2 and 2 make 4, 4 and 4 make 8, and so on.
After every move a new 2 (or sometimes a 4) appears in an empty square.
Reach the 2048 tile to win, then keep going for a bigger score if you like. The game ends when the board is full and nothing can merge.
Easy uses a roomier 5×5 board, Medium the classic 4×4. Both let you undo your last move. Hard and the Daily are 4×4 with no undo.

Tips to win

Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile there. Most good games build everything toward one corner.
Use mostly two directions (for example down and left), and only use a third when you have to.
Keep the row next to your big tile full and in order, so merges cascade toward the corner.
Don't chase small merges in the middle of the board; they scatter your tiles and fill up space.

You win! You can keep going to build 4096 and beyond and push your score higher.

Is there a daily 2048?

Yes. In the Daily, everyone gets the same new tiles in the same places, so scores on the daily leaderboard are a fair race.

Can I undo a move?

On Easy and Medium you can undo your last move. Hard and the Daily have no undo.
