How to play
- Clear the board by matching pairs of identical tiles.
- You can only pick a free tile: one with nothing on top of it and with its left or right side open.
- Tap one free tile, then its twin, and both disappear. Any flower matches any other flower, and any season matches any season.
- Easy has 72 tiles and dims the tiles you can't pick yet. Medium has 108 tiles and Hard 144, with no dimming.
- Stuck with no pairs left? Shuffle mixes the remaining tiles into a board that can still be finished.
Tips to win
- Work from the top and the long rows first; tiles in the middle of a row stay blocked longest.
- If you see three or four matching tiles free, think before you pick: choose the pair that frees the most new tiles.
- Don't clear the easy pairs on the edges too early if they're holding nothing back.
- Matching pairs quickly one after another builds a combo for extra points.
Questions
Can every Mahjong board be cleared?
Yes. Each board is made by playing a full game backwards, so there is always a way to clear it. Shuffling keeps that true.
Which tiles can I match?
Identical tiles, like two lotus 5s. The four flowers all match each other, and so do the four seasons.
Is this Mahjong game free?
Yes. Play free in your browser on phone, tablet or computer, with no download and no account.
Is there a daily Mahjong?
Yes. The Daily board is the same for every player that day and has its own leaderboard.
