How to play

  1. Pick a mode: Easy has 12 to 16 pieces, Medium about 36 and Hard 63 or 64. The Daily is the same picture and cut for everyone.
  2. The loose pieces wait in the tray under the board (beside it on a big screen). Swipe the tray sideways to see more of them.
  3. Drag a piece onto the board. When it's close to its spot it clicks into place and stays there.
  4. Two loose pieces that belong together join up when you drop one next to the other, and then move as one.
  5. Stuck? Ghost shows a faint copy of the picture on the board, Edges shows only the straight-sided pieces, and Teach me highlights a piece and where it goes.

Tips to win

  • Start with the four corners, then the rest of the edge: pieces with a straight side always go on the border.
  • Sort by colour. Sky pieces go at the top, water and grass near the bottom.
  • Build out from what's already on the board: the pieces next to a finished area are the easiest to spot.
  • Look at the shape too. A piece with tabs on both sides fits between two pieces with gaps.
  • Join small groups of loose pieces off the board, then drop the whole group into place.

Are these jigsaw puzzles free?

Yes. Play free in your browser on phone, tablet or computer, with no download and no account.

How many pieces are there?

Easy has 12 or 16 pieces, Medium about 36, Hard 63 or 64 and the Daily 25 or 30, depending on whether the picture is square or wide.

Can I choose the picture?

Yes. In Easy, Medium and Hard tap Picture to choose any of the lake pictures. The Daily picks the picture for you.

What is the ghost picture?

A faint copy of the finished picture on the board, so you can see where each piece goes. It's on in Easy, you can switch it on in Medium and the Daily, and Hard has none.

Is there a daily jigsaw puzzle?

Yes. Every day there's a new Daily puzzle: the same picture and the same cut for every player, with its own leaderboard.

How do I play jigsaw puzzles on my phone?

The board fits your screen and the pieces wait in a tray below it. Swipe the tray sideways to look through them and drag a piece up onto the board.
