How to play

  1. Tap a jar to pick it up, then tap another jar to pour into it.
  2. Water only pours onto the same colour or into an empty jar. All the layers of the top colour pour together, as many as fit.
  3. Each jar holds 4 layers. A jar full of one colour gets a lily cork and is done.
  4. Sort every colour into its own jar to win. Fewer pours earn more stars: match Hop's best line (par) for three.
  5. Easy has 4 to 5 colours, Medium 7 to 8 and Hard 10 to 12. Undo a few pours, or on Easy and Medium add one extra empty jar per level. The Daily is the same puzzle for everyone.

Tips to win

  • Keep at least one jar empty as long as you can. An empty jar is your most useful tool for digging out a buried colour.
  • Finish a jar when you can: a full jar is out of your way and frees your attention for the rest.
  • Before pouring into an empty jar, check which colour you'll uncover underneath, and make sure it has somewhere to go.
  • Don't split a colour across two jars unless you have to. Gathering it in one place takes extra pours later.

How do you play Water Sort?

Tap one jar, then another, to pour water from the first into the second. Water can only go onto the same colour or into an empty jar. Win by getting every colour into its own jar.

Is every Water Sort level solvable?

Yes. Every level is checked by a solver before you play it, and levels that are too easy are thrown away. Par is the number of pours in the solver's best line.

What do I do when I'm stuck in Water Sort?

Undo a few pours, add the extra jar on Easy and Medium, or restart the level. Teach me always shows a pour that still leads to a win, or tells you if there is no winning line from where you are.

Is Water Sort free?

Can colour-blind players play Water Sort?

Yes. Every colour also has its own symbol (heart, star, drop, leaf, moon and more) on each layer, so you can sort by shape.
