Play This or That free online with your partner: pick the card you like more, then guess which one they picked. It's a gentle way to find out how well you know each other. How to play

  1. Choose a question pack (or Mix) and how many rounds, then press Start. On one phone you take turns and pass it over; online each of you uses your own phone.
  2. Each round, tap the card you like more and lock it in. Your pick stays secret until the reveal.
  3. Then guess which card your partner picked. Every right guess scores a point for you.
  4. The reveal shows both picks. Matching picks are a sweet little moment; different picks are something new to ask about.
  5. At the end Hops shares how in sync you were, and suggests one thing worth talking about. Tap Keep discovering for a fresh set of questions.

Tips for a great game

  • There are no wrong answers. A different pick isn't a miss, it's a story you haven't heard yet.
  • Ask why. The best part of the game is the conversation after each reveal.
  • Try a pack you wouldn't normally choose: Dreams brings out big answers and Date night works well for a first date.
  • Play the Daily 5 together each evening: five questions take about three minutes and the questions change every day.
  • Long distance? Create an online table and send the link. You see each other's answers at the same moment.

How do you play This or That with a partner?

Each round shows two cards. You both secretly pick the one you like more, then each guess what the other picked. After the reveal you see matches, surprises and who guessed right.

Can we play This or That online as a couple?

Yes. Choose Together online, create a table and send your partner the link. You each play on your own phone and both answers are revealed at the same time.

Is there a daily version?

Yes. The Daily 5 is five new questions every day, the same for everyone, and it counts towards your daily streak. Play it together on one phone.

How many questions are there?

There are 100 questions in five packs: Everyday, Date night, Travel, Food and Dreams. A game uses 8 or 12 of them, and the game avoids ones you've seen lately so it stays fresh.

What if we pick different things a lot?

That's a good sign, not a bad one. Different picks are the most interesting part: each one is a small thing you just learned about each other.
