Spider Solitaire 1 Suit

ORIGINAL

Cards · Relaxed Spider with one suit: the best way to learn.

Spider Solitaire with 1 suit is the relaxed version of Spider: two decks of spades only, so every run you build can be moved. It's the best way to learn how Spider works, and most games can be won.

How to play

  1. 104 spades are dealt: 54 into ten columns (only the bottom card face up) and 50 kept in the deck for five more deals.
  2. Place any card on the card one rank higher. With one suit, every ordered run moves together.
  3. Build a full run from King down to Ace and it leaves the table. Clear all eight runs to win.
  4. Tap the deck to deal one new card onto every column. You can't deal while a column is empty.
  5. When you're ready for more, switch to 2 or 4 suits with the level buttons.

Tips to win

  • Free up face-down cards first. Every one you turn over gives you more choices.
  • An empty column lets you split a long run and rebuild it in a better place.
  • Put cards on the highest card possible: a 6 on a 7 is better than leaving it loose.
  • Use the moves you have before dealing a new row; each deal lands on top of every column.

Questions

Is 1-suit Spider easy?

It's the easiest Spider level and a good place to start. You still need to plan, but almost every game can be won.

What does 1 suit mean in Spider Solitaire?

Both decks use spades only, so you never have to worry about matching suits: any ordered run can move.

How do I win Spider Solitaire?

Complete eight runs from King to Ace. Each finished run leaves the table, and the game is won when the table is clear.

Can I play the harder versions?

Yes. Pick 2 suits or 4 suits with the buttons above the table, or open the Spider Solitaire 4 suits page.
