How to play
- Choose Easy, Medium or Hard to play against 1 to 3 bots, or Friends to pass one device around 2 to 4 players. Pick the number of players and press Start.
- Press Roll to throw six dice, then tap the dice that score to set them aside: each 1 is 100, each 5 is 50 and three of a kind is the face × 100 (three 1s are 1,000). Tap one die of a triple and all three are picked.
- Bigger sets score more: four, five or six of a kind are 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000; a straight 1–6, three pairs, or four of a kind with a pair are 1,500; two triplets are 2,500. Tap ? beside the turn total for the full list.
- Then press Roll to throw the dice you have left, or Bank to add the turn's points to your score. A roll with no scoring dice is a Farkle and you lose the whole turn. If all six dice score, you have hot dice: roll all six again.
- The first player to reach 10,000 sets the target and everyone else gets one last turn to beat it; the highest score wins. In the Daily everyone gets the same dice: score as much as you can in 5 turns and beat Hops.
Tips to win
- With 6 or 5 dice, keep rolling: a Farkle is only about 2% or 8% likely. With 2 dice it's 44% and with 1 die 67%, so bank unless the turn is still small.
- You don't have to keep every scoring die. With a 1 and a 5, keeping only the 1 leaves five dice to roll instead of four, which is safer and scores more on average.
- Behind near the end? Take bigger risks. Far ahead? Bank smaller turns and make the others chase you.
- In the final round you have to beat the leader, so keep rolling until you're past them: banking less is the same as losing.
- Switch on Teach me and Hops tells you which dice to keep and whether to roll or bank, with the odds of a Farkle.
- Prefer the house rule where your first bank must be at least 500? Switch on 500 to get on the board before you press Start.
- To play friends online, open Online, choose Play a friend, pick 2, 3 or 4 players and send the link. Hops can fill empty seats. The table rolls the dice for everyone, so nobody can cheat, and each move has a 30-second clock.

Questions
How do you play Farkle?
Roll six dice and set aside at least one scoring die. Then either roll the rest to build up your turn or bank the points. If a roll has nothing that scores, that's a Farkle and the turn's points are lost. The first to 10,000 triggers a last round, and the highest score wins.
What scores in Farkle?
Each 1 is 100 and each 5 is 50. Three of a kind is the face × 100, except three 1s, which are 1,000. Four, five and six of a kind are 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000. A straight 1–6, three pairs, or four of a kind with a pair are 1,500, and two triplets are 2,500. Scoring dice must come from the same roll.
What is a Farkle?
A roll where no die scores: no 1, no 5, no three of a kind and no six-dice combination. Your turn ends at once and every point you set aside that turn is lost.
What are hot dice?
When all six dice have been set aside as scoring dice in one turn, you pick them all up and roll six again, keeping the points you've built so far. You can keep going as long as you don't Farkle.
What are the odds of a Farkle?
It depends on how many dice you roll: about 2.3% with 6 dice, 7.7% with 5, 15.7% with 4, 27.8% with 3, 44.4% with 2 and 66.7% with 1.
Is Farkle the same as Zilch or 10,000?
Yes, they're names for the same family of dice games, and the scoring varies a little from table to table. GameLake uses the most common modern scoring, with first to 10,000 and a final round.
How smart is Hops?
Easy plays by feel and banks at rough thresholds. Medium keeps every scoring die and banks when the average points say so. Hard plays for the win: it sometimes keeps fewer dice to roll more, and its banking depends on the dice left and everyone's scores.
Can I play Farkle online with friends?
Yes. Choose Online, then Play a friend, pick 2 to 4 players and send the link. Your friends tap it and join from any phone or computer, with no app and no account. Quick match finds you an opponent instead.
Is Farkle free?
Yes. Play free in your browser on phone, tablet or computer, with no download and no account. Your game is saved if you leave mid-way.
